Started this cheeky little bootleg last night, waiting to get some vocals done for it before i go much further with it, but what do you reckon so far?

Could really do with some feedback/ripping it to bits with this one now that it’s so close to being the track it deserves to be.

What’s wrong with it? anything sound out of place? (there are two synth bits that we’ve not quite figured out what to do with, so they’ve just sort of been plonked for now, but other then that!) what would you do differently? does it need a “different” full on bit at the end of breakdown before the original motifs come back in (ala sean tyas)? etc etc.

(No comments will be considered too harsh)

135bpm trance number i’m currently writing with some friends. Trying to marry uplifting but melancholy trance with balearic guitars and a touch of electric goodness (thanks to bowelman!).  It’s missing assorted sweepy swirly bits and pieces and the percussion needs changing from a rough framework to something better matched but it’s mostly there now, maybe….

quick update, reverbed the perc to soften them, added a new hi end synth to add a bit mroe depth to some sections and some cymbal crashes, but im not really sure about the sound of those yet… back to the drawing baord.

A “sort of” tech trance tune.  It needs filler noises, pads and sweeps but i’m not entirely sure on the sounds that are there at the minute. suggestions/comments more than welcome

Started on a “dubstep” track.  Not being too dubstep savvy, at least, this is what i think dubstep should sound like.

It was going to be a laid back breaks track, but it was too slow for my mood, so it’s ended up as drum n bass.

first time i’ve made a d’n'b track so some pointers would be great.

After seeing Sean Tyas on friday night i’m in the mood for making some proper trance,

so here’s how far i’ve got so far..

Im bloody determined to actually finish this, so i hope i’m going in the right direction?

Holy Mackeral, i’ve actually *almost* finished a tune, it needs a good spit and polish, need to figure out how to go from breakdown to peak section (i’ve never got this far before!) and get everything to gel a bit better (particularly the change in piano during the breakdown) but apart from that, whatta ya think? anything else i should be paying attention to?

Oh, can you feel how close the end is with this tune. I always intended to have a vocal on it, i know what i want to say, but i really struggle with lyrics so it might be a while before the vocal mix gets done, but for now, i think it’s just the end that needs tidying up

Been searching through my old unfinished projects and found this from 2 years ago that inspired me to do some more to it.

For once i actually know roughly what to do breakdown wise, but thought i put up this little preview of what’s been done so far..

Continuing my recent theme of ripping off proper music, here ’s my attempt at a trance version of the theme to “The Rock”

I’ve stopped for now on it because, yet again, i can’t get any decent thoughts for the breakdown.

Any suggestions ?

Well, I started out with the idea of working on my drum programming and making a sorta fastish minimal techno type tune with a big dirty, all encompassing lead…

I’ve ended up making trance again!!

I’ve spent some more time on it now… stretched the sections out so it’s more of a tune (so far).. not happy with the perc at the start esp.. if anyone has any suggestions how i can sort them out and sound like a proper perc tune intro please say =o)
Also.. ignore the really bad drop into the choral section, i haven’t figured out how i’m going to make that transition section work yet.. again, suggestions?
